Anjum Iqbal, M.D.

Dr. Iqbal is a board-certified Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) physician who is fellowship-trained in pain medicine. A fellowship is the highest level of medical training in the United States. Dr. Iqbal specializes in the nonsurgical relief of back and neck pain symptoms.

Before joining Capital Region Spine, Dr. Iqbal worked in a pain management specialty clinic in Youngstown, Ohio. Before that he completed his fellowship-training in interventional pain management with the Department of Anesthesiology at the Medical College of Georgia.

Dr. Iqbal completed his residency in PM&R at Albany Medical Center where he was named Chief Resident.

Dr. Iqbal is active in clinical studies and has a paper that is scheduled to be published in the Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He is also an assistant professor of PM&R at Albany Medical Center.

In his spare time, Dr. Iqbal enjoys spending time with his wife and four children. Other hobbies include walking, bike riding, swimming and volunteer work with the medically underprivileged.
