Richard R. Whipple, M.D.

A Board-Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon, Dr. Whipple is well known for his work in Hand and Upper extremities. He is also trained and skilled in arthoscopic and shoulder and knee procedures, and enjoys arthroscopic shoulder and knee, and general orthopaedics.

He received his medical degree from the University of Connecticut, School of Medicine in 1981. His internship in general surgery and his orthopaedic residency work was completed locally at Albany Medical Center Hospital. Dr. Whipple then completed his fellowship training in Hand & Upper Extremity Reconstruction at Loma Linda University, in Loma Linda, California. He returned to Albany in 1987 to begin private practice.

Dr. Whipple is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor with the division of Orthopaedic Surgery at Albany Medical College. Dr. Whipple joined Capital Region Orthopaedics in 1998.

Dr. Whipple sees patients at the Albany, and Latham and offices.
