Robert A. Cheney
Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon
Fellowship Trained in Spine Surgery

Dr. Robert Cheney joined Capital Region Orthopaedics in 1996, and specializes in spine surgery. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Cheney is also a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Dr. Cheney is an associate clinical instructor with the department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Albany Medical Center. Dr. Cheney has numerous memberships in professional societies, and is affiliated with the following groups:

• American Medical Association
• Crawford Campbell Society
• Medical Society of New York
• Medical Society of Albany County
• New York State Society of Orthopaedic Surgeons
• North American Spine Society

He received his medical degree from the University of Vermont, College of Medicine. Dr. Cheney's postgraduate work included an internship at Maine Medical Center, Dept. of Surgery. He completed his residency training at Akron General Medical Center and Children's Medical Center, Hospital of Akron. He completed his fellowship at William Beaumont Hospital with the department of Orthopaedic Surgery Spine Division.
