Shankar P. Das, M.D.

Dr. Shankar P. Das is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon, and the current Medical Director of the Capital Region Ambulatory Surgery Center. His specialty interest is in sports medicine with specific focus on shoulder and knee injuries and surgery. Dr. Das is a Guilderland native, and completed his medical training at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA obtaining his MD in 1993. Dr. Das then completed his internship and residency at Albany Medical Center. He then pursued further training in Sports Medicine at the prestigious Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles, California.

Dr. Das joined Capital Region Orthopaedics in 1999 and holds dual faculty positions at Albany Medical Center - Assisant Clinical Professor and at the State University at Albany in the Athletic Department.

Dr. Das is the team physician for State University of New York at Albany athletic teams, orthopaedic consultant for the Tri-City Valley Cats, Albany River Rats, Guilderland High School and Colonie High School.

Dr. Das sees patients at the Albany, and Clifton Park offices.
